Japonica was created one beautiful Spring day.

Out in the garden, enjoying the shapes and tones of greenery, she tried to capture the leaves in ink and convey only the simple bold shapes of the leaves.

Elaine Field has worked as a design director and illustrator her entire career until she recently switched to paper and fiber, now working as an artist intuitively creating and exploring unusual color combinations. Seeking the perfectly imperfect composition within a piece of work whilst striving to create a feeling of effortless ease and harmony.

Paper and print technique

Hôtel Magique art prints are printed in the Netherlands on 300 gsm FSC and PEFC-certified paper Biotop paper, and 310 gsm Giclée prints on fine art paper.
